Customized Cultural Tour Packages for Colleges and Universities

At CEHS we are delighted to help the interested college or university design a customized cultural tour packages that fits its needs, whether to illustrate in-country what is being taught in classes on the home campus or a more general cultural travel package. Either way, let us know what you are interested in exploring, and we can collaborate to design the appropriate tour.

CEHS-organized tours can be of any length, from a short 5-day package to up to 14 days. The most popular packages are generally 9 or 10 days in length. The most popular months for tours are May, June, July, September and October.

During our guided tours of the places we visit, you can expect a historically rich, contextualized presentation, including all the necessary background information to gain a better understanding of the sites included in the tour.

CEHS student/faculty tours are priced based on the number of student and faculty participants interested. The specific college or university group that hires CEHS services will receive exclusive attention, never being thrown in with other potential tour groups.

CEHS cultural tour packages are all-inclusive in nature, including airport pick-up, group tour transportation, hotel accommodations, all meals (3 per day), and entry tickets for visits. CEHS tours generally accommodate its student participants in three or four-star hotels, two or three to a room. Accompanying faculty accommodations are individual, unless accompanied by family members. Groups enjoy buffet breakfast at our hotels, some group meals, and for independent meals, students and faculty receive generous meal allowances. The last night of the tour generally concludes with a farewell dinner.

The only additional expenses a tour participant might have are personal ones. What follows is an example of one of our tour packages, which took place in May, 2024.

(*Note: For all “Independent Meals” over the course of the tour, students and faculty are given a generous meal allowance. Of course, the idea is so that tour participants can make some meal decisions on their own, and are not always required to be with the rest of the group)

• Day 1: Monday, May 13 – Arrival in Madrid; pick-up and transfer to Segovia. Walking Tour of Old City. Lunch (group meal); dinner (independent meal*)
• Day 2: Tuesday, May 14 – Day in Segovia; Visits to the Alcázar (quintessential medieval Palace/Castle, first home to the Spanish Crown), and Cathedral. Hotel buffet breakfast. Lunch and dinner (independent meals)
• Day 3: Wednesday, May 15 – Leave Segovia for Andalucía (Córdoba, Sevilla, Málaga, Granada). Córdoba to visit the Mosque and discuss Spain’s Islamic past and Hispano-Islamic architecture. After visiting the mosque, we board our bus for Sevilla. Walking tour of historic center of Sevilla. Hotel buffet breakfast,Independent lunch and dinner.
• Day 4: Thursday, May 16 – Sevilla. Visit to the Cathedral (One of the largest Cathedral’s in the world. Afternoon bus tour, visit of the Plaza de España, stroll through the María Luisa Gardens. Evening Flamenco show. Buffet breakfast,group lunch, independent dinner.
• Day 5: Friday, May 17 – We leave Sevilla early for Málaga. If weather is nice, we go to Málaga to spend a few hours at the beach. Otherwise, we would leave directly for Granada. Early afternoon departure for Granada. Walking tour of Old City, up to Albaicín, with views of the Alhambra. Buffet breakfast,Independent lunch and dinner.
• Day 6: Saturday, May 18 – Granada. Visit of the Alhambra in the morning. Optional (although free) visit of the Royal Chapel, where the Reyes Católicos are buried. Buffet breakfast, independent lunch and dinner.
• Day 7: Sunday, May 19 – Depart Granada for Toledo, where we spend the day, and one night. In the city perhaps most exemplary of the confluence of the three great Civilizations, Christianity, Islam and Judaism, we visit the Synagogue of the Tránsito (also Sephardic Museum), the Cathedral, and we visit the Church of Santo Tomé to see one of El Greco’s most famous paintings: the Burial of the Count of Orgaz. Part of the tour is panoramic, as we follow from the bus the course of the Tagus river and delight in the truly stunning views of the city. Hotel breakfast, independent lunch and dinner.
• Day 8: Monday, May 20. Depart Toledo for Madrid, Spain’s capital, where we will spend the next two days and nights. Walking tour of Old Madrid (Puerta del Sol, Palacio Real, Catedral de la Virgin de la Almudena, Plaza de la Villa, Plaza Mayor, Parque del Retiro. Visit to the Prado Museum. Buffet breakfast, 2 independent meals.
• Day 9: Tuesday, May 21. Madrid. Short walking tour (Plaza de Cibeles, with Casa América, el Palacio de Telecomunicaciones, now City Hall, the Banco de España, and the Palace of Buenavista, home of the Cuartel General del Ejército, the Madrid Stock Exchange, and the Monumento al 2 de Mayo.) Optional (albeit free) visit to the Reina Sofía Museum. Buffet breakfast, independent lunch, group dinner.
• Day 10: Wednesday, May 22. Airport Transfer for return flight to U.S.
