Fall and Spring Semesters

Our semester programs are designed to immerse students in Spanish language and culture, an ideal option for Spanish majors and minors, although credit can also be earned in other academic areas. To participate in either the fall or spring semester programs, all students must have completed Intermediate Spanish II at a minimum. The only language class offered in the semester programs is Advanced Communication in Spanish. All classes in CEHS semester programs are taught in Spanish by university faculty.

Highlights of CEHS Semester Programs

  • Homestays with host Spanish families, one student per family. You will receive your three meals per day (and plenty!), have your laundry done at least once a week, WIFI in the homes, and you can expect to be treated like a member of the family, all of course while speaking Spanish.
  • Exciting cultural travel package. Two long excursions: 5 days/4 nights in Andalucía (Córdoba, Sevilla, Granada); 4 days/3 nights in Asturias y Galicia (Covadonga, Oviedo, Santiago de Compostela, La Coruña); 2 separate one-day visits to Madrid; 4 one-day excursions (Toledo, Ávila/Salamanca, El Escorial/Valle de los Caídos, Palacio de la Granja y Royal Glass Factory). Everything related to the formal program travel package is included in the program price: all entrance fees, hotel stays, transportation, all meals. When meals are independent, you are provided a generous allowance for those meals during group program travel.
  • Airport transfers (to and from).
